Why Wait until Monday?

We all need “Motivational Monday” quotes, but what about the rest of the week? Why wait until Monday to get something started?

I know it’s Friday (TGIF!), but I’m leaving you with a bit of inspiration and optimism for the weekend….

I chose this quote because I think it is the perfect mantra for a productive weekend. There is no better time than now to start something you have been wanting to do. You know, that lingering task that’s been on your to-do list for weeks on end but you keep putting it off. What are you waiting for?

I constantly remind myself of this quote when I have a big test or paper coming up. In terms of academics, I have to work my tail off if I want to see good results. Science does not come naturally to me, and I have to put in a great deal of time and effort. Because I’ve worked so hard to maintain (and improve) my grades dramatically, I have a greater sense of accomplishment. I can honestly say that I don’t take any days off either. I start getting ahead on my work the moment I get my syllabus (syllabi? Is this the plural form?) because what is the sense in waiting? I’m going to have to do all of the work at some point, I might as well get ahead while I can!

This weekend you can find me at the Birds Nest at the Phoenix Open. After that I will be glued to my desk for the rest of the weekend studying (big test on Monday, then I can breathe again!). Have a great weekend and don’t eat too many nachos at your Super Bowl party on Sunday!

Are you doing anything exciting this weekend?

  1. I definitely have a tendency to put things off if they aren’t “immediately” due or causing stress. The problem with that is the stress that wasn’t there in the beginning just amplifies!

Your dedication to your schoolwork is so inspiring! I hope things continue to go well for you. :)

Great advice for the weekend! I have a couple of blog things I’ve been putting off that you’ve inspired me to start. Have fun at the birds nest and good luck on Monday!

  3. You’re so right! I love this mentality. I’ve been trying to get better about starting things early. It just makes everything else so much easier.

It really does. If anything, it makes you more prepared for what’s to come and allows for all the unexpected events or tasks that might get in the way ;)

  4. beautiful graphic. i love your style.

  5. I’ll be right there with you glued to the textbook! Well, except for when I’m getting side tracked by blogs :) Love this quote and the quote “There’s no better time than now.”

Such a great quote as well! Now I should really take my own advice and get back to studying, easier said than done! ;)

  6. I am such a procrastinator… I’ve gotta change that! Have fun at the golf(?) tournament! And good luck on the test :)

  7. I’m a little late to the game on this one but wanted to tell you how much I appreciate this even though it’s already Monday! I moved this past weekend and it sucked the life out of me but now it’s time to furnish and I know I should just do it but I keep putting it off. Time to get going thanks to my new found inspiration :)

Glad I could give you that little extra push you were looking for ;) Decorating a new place is the only good part about moving in my opinion! Think of it this way, at least the tough part is behind you now!
